Born to Job VanHorn and Prudence Davis. Married John furrow in 1859. Mother of 3, 2 lived to adulthood.

"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 26, No 52, p 207, Dec. 22, 1870.
At Welton, Iowa, Nov. 30th, 1870, of typhoid fever, Amanda M. Furrow, wife of John Furrow, in the 41st year of her age. Sister Furrow embraced religion in early life, and maintained a consistent Christian life. At the time of her death, she belonged to the Welton Seventh-day Baptist Church, where she was a much esteemed member. She has been much afflicted during life with bodily sickness, yet patiently endured to the end. In her last illness, she was much of the time unconscious of her sufferings, yet she left the assurance that all was well. We mourn not as those that have no hope. Her funeral sermon was preached by Eld. B. Clement, from these words, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - Matt. 11: 28 J. O. B.
